"Illuminate" Drum Sample Pack
This is a drum sample pack I put together consisting of samples I’ve taken and created over the past several years.
I’ve been very fortunate with getting a lot of session work. Every time I record live drums for an artist/band/client out of my home studio, I always take a small set of samples of my kit for that specific session. I’ve also layered samples and built drum sounds I’ve used for my EP’s over the past couple of years. So this pack is a small collection of all of those drum sounds.
You’ll notice that the natural kick and tom samples all sound fairly similar, and that’s because I’m using the same set of kick and toms for each ‘kit’. They’ve been mic’ed up slightly different for each session, which is why there might be slight variances in the tones. Otherwise, the overall pitch of the drums is pretty equal throughout.
I’ve included processed versions of every drum if you’re in need of something a bit more ‘plug-and-play’. I compiled this pack with the intension of combining the natural samples with the processed sounds. So I’ve included Slate Trigger presets, which will pull up a combination I’ve personally put together for each drum. You can hear these specific presets on my SoundCloud page. The link is below.
I’ve had the same go-to kick and snare sound for almost all of my EP’s after my first release. This kick and snare sound have slightly evolved over the past couple of years, and they’ve been very essential for my drum sound in all of my releases. These are titled ‘Lion Drums’, because I started using them on my EP release titled ‘Lion’.
Lastly, I’ve included two extra snares that I’ve sampled from random sessions out of my studio. Below is a detailed list of everything that comes in this pack.
